About Birchwood

in-camp activities

Between adventures, campers live in cabins of six boys and two counselors. Each day campers sign up for the in-camp activities they want to do. This is done individually (not as a cabin) so that boys have a chance to socialize with campers of all ages outside their cabin.

Experience is NOT necessary to participate in any of the in-camp activity options. Examples of in-camp activities include:

  • tubing/kneeboarding
  • sailing
  • windsurfing
  • archery
  • target shooting
  • rock climbing and bouldering
  • guitar lessons
  • arts and crafts
  • outdoor cooking
  • fishing
  • horseback riding
  • wilderness skills
  • mountain biking
  • swimming
  • kayaking
  • hiking and geocaching adventures
  • team & wilderness sports
